4:00-4:40 | Team test
12 problems in 40 minutes, teams submit their answers on a single answer sheet. Problems come from a variety of subjects.
4:50-6:00 | Guts
24 problems divided into sets of four. Turn in one set before you get the next. This test is scored immediately, and scores are publicly posted in real time. More information and sample problems here
6:00-6:50 | Dinner
We'll offer pepperoni, cheese, and Hawaiian pizza
Crossroads mall also has great options. Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions
6:50-7:30 | Individual Finals
Top 15 students complete 3 additional problems in 40 minutes. Ties will be broken by performance on the individual tests.
6:50-7:30 | Mini-events
Non-finalists (who are all still winners) can participate in one of three optional events
Estimathon: give ranges of numbers as answers to estimation problems. For example, how many people ride the London Underground each day?
Plank Countdown: Mathcounts style countdown tournament, but participants must plank
Art: A test of the participants' skills with the compass and straight-edge ruler.
8:00-8:30 | Awards Ceremony and Plank Countdown finals
Teams will be ranked based on the results of the individual, team, and guts rounds. We will also crown the Ultimate Fitness Champion. Winner gets a potentially figurative olive branch.
